I shoot the most beautiful beaches and Waves DVDs - Wavesdvd.com - and currently carry a 6 megapixel Nikon d100 to shoot stills along with my Sony PD-150. I'm looking to update - bang for the buck - and for $1500+ to the Nikon d200 with 10 mp. I sell my photos as stock as well as use them as promotional items.

I'd love to see RED allow me to leave my D100 at home and skip the d200 and allow me to shoot 4k or 2k stills IN RAW - either on the hard drive or seperate memory card.

Will this be possible - I hope - Jim?

well theoretically since they are progressive frames and Red does RAW then you can extract stills from the video pretty easily.. i dont know about memory card though.. kinda a good idea.

So switch to 4k, and shoot a few frames?

Ya, I guess you could, switch the camera from 1080p over to 4k, assumming you have the 4k lenses - shoot a few frames and then back. It would be nice to have a few programable buttons, one being a single frame shot, great for stop motion and stills.
