[FS: General] Sony PXW-FS7 with R5 16-bit RAW recorder package

The day has finally come for me to sell my beloved FS7. It was, and still is, a great camera but I have too many cameras (F55, Z750, FX6, Z280, S1H) so it is time to clear some space on my shelves and let it find a new home where it can be put back into service. For the last three years it has only been used once or twice a month to shoot rocket launches at KSC.

This is a rare FS7 package that includes everything you need to shoot 4K 16-bit Sony RAW files, just like the F55, F5, and Venice. 16-bit RAW files are actually easier to work with in Resolve than lower bit-rate compressed files. I can upload some ungraded, original, RAW files if you want to see for yourself.

Don’t confuse the R5 with lesser recorders from 3rd party companies. The R5 recorder is super simple to use. You just turn on the power, connect it to the camera with a BNC cable, and it is ready to go without any further setup or adjustments. Start/Stop is activated from the camera’s regular record buttons. I have used the R5 as a tethered recorder but you could easily devise a system to mount it to the camera on rails or something else.

When RAW is not needed, you can record XAVC-I and ProRes internally on the FS7 with the XDCA back. The XDCA back also provides timecode, genlock, and 4-pin XLR power connectors that are not on the FS7 itself.

The FS7 has a super-35mm sensor, built-in ND filters, XLR audio, records on reliable XQD cards, and accepts all Sony e-mount lenses natively with full communication with the camera. Almost all other cinema and 35mm photography lenses are compatible if you have the right adapter. When the XDCA is mounted, the camera can be powered by standard V-mount batteries. The R5 also has its own built-in V-mount battery plate.

    This package includes:
    • PXW-FS7 (only 530 hours)
    • LCD panel, viewfinder loupe, shotgun microphone mount (all in excellent condition)
    • Grip and extension arm (never used)
    • Sony AXS-R5 RAW recorder
    • Sony HXR-IFR5 interface
    • (2) 512GB AXS memory cards
    • A copy of my FS7 Field Guide book
    • Access to my 6-hour FS7 Master Class on Vimeo https://vimeo.com/ondemand/fs7
Original boxes and paperwork for most of the items

As you can see from the photos, everything is in excellent condition with only normal scuffs. The viewfinder loupe and LCD work perfectly and the grip has never been used.
This is my personal camera has never been rented or loaned. You can have 24 hours to test it and return it for a full refund (less shipping charges) if you aren’t satisified.

$7500 + shipping (from Florida) and PayPal fees.

Price lowered to $7500. This in an amazing turn-key package for shooting Sony 16-bit RAW or regular XAVC-I.
