Zoom Am7 M/S microphone for android

Just found that Zoom has launched this M/S microphone for android devices.

One can plug into the android mobile using the USB C port and record at 49 KHz at 16 bits. There is a zoom app to do processing.
According to B&H the Price 99 USD and is on preorder.

I am not into selfies and I don't record videos to my android mobile. However, for people who do, the microphone is likely to be useful. I am actually thinking it would be a good idea to have it for treks and in places when I don't have my recorder. I wonder if anyone else here is using any similar kind of microphone to their mobile phones. Or will it be a waste of 100 dollars?

Just remember with these, you tend to get what you pay for. I've tested, reviewed and put many phone mic recording setups
through their paces and while I won't say they all sound terrible, they all sound like you would expect them to for the money.

Kind of like the Tascam DR-10s I use occasionally. They sound ok for $200.00. But compared to my Schoeps or Audix into my Mix Pre 3,
not in the same league.
