XLH1 - + Greenscreen - Any advise?

Hello all.

I have to create a greenscreen of a girl jogging, running, jumping and doing pressups, it will eventually be silhouetted like the itunes videos.

I presume shooting in interlaced at a higher shutter would be best? 100?

Has anybody any experience with greenscreen and the XLH1 can you give me any hints or tips? thanks in advance.

Andy.

As with any camera, keep the noise down, use a healthy aperture, shoot in 30P, and yeah a higher shutterspeed will help minimize motion blur. I posted 2 music videos shot entirely on green with the XH-A1 and I had no issues.

Pull a test key on set and keep tweaking your lighting if necessary - better to know going into post your key will be as good as possible. progressive over interlaced and yes, faster shutter will keep motion blur to a minimum. what are you using to key?

shoot in progressive? surly not interlaced would be better for motion? going to key with fcp.

Yeah, I did all my work with FCP also and always shot in progressive mode.

I've never heard of anyone shooting in an interlaced mode for keying.

I agree with Chris. Why add jaggies and comb effects from interlaced when you are trying to key edges smoothly?

Generally in the HD world, interlaced = bad (unless you need it for some reason)
progressive = good.
