Whats the best way to compress my 2GB mov file?

I just finnished exporting my video as a quicktime movie. It was exported as a 2GB mov file. I want to burn this project onto a dvd using idvd. It is about 50 minutes long. How would I compress this file to burn at the best possible quality? I have compressor but I would need a basic tutorial. Any helpful information would be greatly appreciated.
