What happened to FMA (Free Music Archive)?

[scorsesefan]

This was a go-to site for me and I'm sure a lot of other filmmakers for their music needs. And then the site was down often for months or the search function was broken. Now a notice on the site says it was sold to tribe of music and you can play tracks but not download them. Ugh. I'm all for artists receiving payment for their work (if that's what's going on here) but it seems like someone took a wrecking ball to a once great resource...

Anyone know what the deal is?

You can still get to some of the CC music and download it (just tried myself https://www.freemusicarchive.org/curator/Video the curator, genre and charts tabs still work), but yeah, most search functionality is broken

Thanks. I also found some of their stuff on Archive.org.
