Hello!
Has anybody seen "Secuestro Express"?
Well it's a movie that makes Latino's lives more miserable in America for being stereotyped.... once again... but besides that... does anybody know what camera they used??

I think it looks terrible... I was hoping that it wasn't a DVX100 but something inferior. In one article I read it was on DVCAM and it freaked.

Well Mia Maestro makes it worth a peek.

That makes me feel a whole lot better about buying me dvx...However i heard once that discovery channel used a PD150 to shoot a documentary, which involved placing the camera 15 feet away from a blazing fire. After the shoot, the entire exterior of the cam melted, yet the bugger still captured footage. Hardy cam...

PD150, haven't got a source for it right now, but it was a PD150.
NICE THANKS!

Mmmmm. Isn't a DVCAM supposed to look a lot better than DV footage?
Or not necessarily...?

I saw this movie at the theatre and before last nite on TV... and in both they looked like crap. I thought since it was video it was going to look neat on TV.

Saw this on the big screen and the footage didn't bother me. Fit well with the gritty location and story.

It took me a while to get used to it.
Howveer, you are right... it complements with its gritty set and context.

The PD is a war machine, no doubt. It can handle almost anything you throw at it... Just don't expect the best DV picture from it. Is a reliable budget news camera (some people have learned how to make acceptable movies with this camera, too... But its no DVX :) )

i think it was an XL 1. I've seen some making of footage with an xl on a fig rig.
which is a really goodlooking movie shot in the DV format?

if im not mistaken i believed they even shot 60i and deinterlaced in post... which probably explains why it looks so grainy... i don't even know if the pd150 has a true 24p mode. im dvx100%
