Anyone using Vegas with the HVX, any thoughts or tips? It's either Vegas or jump on the Apple bandwagon to use FCP.
Thanks

Yeah. You need something to convert from MXF to AVI or QT. That means:
Raymaker (http://www.dvfilm.com/raylight/index.htm),
CineForm (ConnectHD), or
DVRackHD (DVCPro HD decoder)
There may be others.
What I do is burn a DVD with MXF, convert it using Cineform ConnectHD to AVI, burn a DVD as a backup, and use those AVI files for editing. Works beautifully.

You don't need the first DVD step, though. You can get the MXFs off the HVX.

Do I have to have vegas 6 or 7? I am currently running V5
Each should work just fine with V5.
