I've heard that VirtualDub plug-ins are compatible with Vegas 5. Is it true, and how to use them in Vegas? For example, I downloaded DESHAKER plug-in for VirtualDub, which is compatible with Vegas as I red somewhere. So?
You'll need the PluginPac adapter to use VirtualDub filters in Vegas. But I see it is now called "Wax" instead of PluginPac. This package also contains some other cool filters, and it is freeware.
The major limitation is that you can't automate any of the parameters of the VirtualDub filters through Vegas. At least, that's the way it is with the older version I'm using.
You might also be interested in the Frameserver plugin, also free from the debugmode site. It allows you to use all the filters that are built-in to VirtualDub, including the temporal smoother filter.
