The Longest Yard

I thought it was good but it kind of had the hint that black people aren't good for anything but sports. I don't know if that was intentional or unintentional but there was just this odd feeling about the movie that I couldn't get over for awhile. Either that or I'm just really sensitive towards race issues, I don't accept racism at all in any form from anybody.

But anyway, getting back on topic. I enjoyed the movie, I didn't feel like my money was stolen from me but I think the movie couldn't have been any better than what it was due to the story. I didn't expect there to be so many dramatic moments and to see Adama Sandler get physically beat up by the guards half the time. But when the comedy hit, it hit hard; I loved the McDonald's supplier guy, he's in everything now and he was the best in White Chicks. I think Chris Rock should have had a bigger role, but I think we'll be getting that anyway since he's decided to sign on with Happy Madison Productions in a, I'm guessing, Rob Schneider-like deal. I don't know if you guys know anything about this stuff, but the wrestlers and the bodybuilders in this movie were great. I was most surprised with the really big guy with the subtitles, he's from India if I'm not mistaken and he's supposedly the biggest thing in bodybuilding over there and he even trumps over the current Mr. Olympia champion Ronnie Coleman by like 100 lbs. or something, if you do a search for Ronnie Coleman, I think you may just appreciate how big these guys are and what they do and how easily they would have crushed Adam Sandler and some of the other cast if they really wanted to. Overall appeal I think is the weak point, as you can already see from this thread, it's a love it or hate it kind of movie and nothing is going to change that.

everyone's allowed to have thier own opinion... but come on I cant believe you have the audacity to even question the talent. Sorry you cant be a moron and make so many brilliant decisions over and over and over again.

Well, to each their own, as they say.

If something works, someone is happy.

i was gonna change your Platinum Member under your name to " I heart Sandler " but i thought you would kick my ass.

Hey Pookie, I noticed in your profile that your name is C Haarhoff and then a quick browse in IMDB shows that you (assuming you are Chris Haarhoff: Steadicam/Camera Operator) worked on Airheads, which stars Sandler. I thought you said, on page 2, that you'd never work with the third (ie Sandler)?

Not to hijack the thread, I saw it last night, thought it was really funny except I thought it ended to abruptly and wasn't resolved enough. I like Adam Sandler, I'm with Jarred on this one.
