Synopsis:
In the midst of a school project, Larry and Jorge decide to settle a dispute between the two - whether there's a creature living in the woods next door, or if it's all just local myth. When tragedy strikes the small neighborhood, the two realize that there's a monster among them.
I'm pushing it for May 2011 with a half-an-hour running time. I'm shooting on a DVX100b, squeeze mode, 24p. It's written and shot to look like a documentary.
On one hand, the video looks solid when I view it from my computer offline. On Vimeo/Youtube, it looks really compressed. I made sure to follow Vimeo's guidelines(uploading as an MP4, etc.), but I don't think it looks good.
I'm thinking of switching to shooting with a Flip HD, but from what I've seen, some lighting looks awful on that camera and dark scenes - which make up a good chunk of this script - will look terrible.
Any advice would be great, especially for shooting in dark scenarios. Also, if you can comment on how the trailer was shot and edited, that'd be great, too.
