I will be soon upgrading to Vegas 7.0 using the canon XH A1. My question was does Vegas 7.0 handle 24f natively or will i have to go through some third party software. Also, is there anything i should know about editing 24f before i upgrade to Vegas 7.0?
Thanks David for the quick reply. Quick and straight forward.
Another question i had that was completely off topic from this one (i did not want to start a new thread for this) was if i record to 24f should i be importing it into my editing program (sony Vegas) as progressive and would the footage play well on a progressive HDTV since 24f is suppose to replicate 24p. basically when i record to 24f is it no longer interlace footage but progressive footage?
Yes, when you record 24F to tape, it is recording a progressive image directly to tape. That is why none of the decks can read the tapes. It's Canon's own proprietary progressive format.
So, yes you should be importing into Vegas as a progressive image.
