Paparazzi

Resident Agitator
Ok, I'm sorry to gripe after seeing the trailer once. BUT COME ON! For those that haven't seen it, theres a movie star, and he gets pissed off at the paparazzi all the time, and I think one of them almost causes a car crash or something, so he decides to go after them and kill them.

LAME.

Re: Paparazzi

Wow, agreed. They'd have to have one hell of a writer/director to pull that off. (I have seen some extremely lame story lines that turned out to be decent films but................damn)

Re: Paparazzi

thats what i was thinking when i saw the trailer at Collateral...

Man...

Re: Paparazzi

Love how they flash the "produced by Mel Gibson." Icon and Gibson himself made so much money on Passion they need some lame ducks so they can have some losses.

The moment they showed the car boxed in by the 2 vans with the paparazzi flash bulbing him so he couldn't see all I thought was... this is gay!

Though it will suck and do poorly at the box office(I'll probably eat my words), the trailer wasn't half bad. The title is awful though.

We must all be weary. From now until late September, this is the time where the studios dump their **** movies. It started last week with AvsP(any movie that won't hold a prescreenig for critics is trying to hide something - case in point The Avengers.)

Look for future Oscar winner Without a Paddle to come to a video store near you very soon.

I'm wondering if the new Exorcist is a dud. The timing is odd, not too much hype, and there were lots of production problems... I'm thinkin of waiting for some critiques before chancing it.

Re: Paparazzi

Mel went from our lord and savior to . . .

Paparazzi? he sold his soul for a hit and now look at what the dark prince has in store for him.

*shakes head*

"i will destroy your life...and i can't wait to do it" -satan, er tom sizemore (as posessed by the devil to mel gibson).

Re: Paparazzi

I actually saw this today (I have a lot of freetime lately... thanks Acclaim...). I was running out of films to see, and was happy that it was Friday so I'd have something new to help piss away the day with.

It ain't as bad as it looks in the trailer.

I know it sounds stupid. Well, maybe not stupid, exactly, just, really, really obvious. And it is. But, it's actually mildly involving.

It sort of turns into a will-he/won't-he get away with getting revenge sort of thing. Cat and mouse with the cop (can Farina play anything besides this character?). Cat and cat with the four paparazzi. It's missing a little mouse and mouse with his wife though. Completely lost potential there. And, it's a shame, because I've always thought Robin Tunney deserved more than she seems to get (remember "Empire Records"...).

It's got bad points, but, by the time the ending was unfolding, I was pretty happy with the story itself.

But, mostly what made kept me entertained was Sizemore's performance. He's perfect in this part. The film needs another twenty minutes of just him being an asshole.

It was worth matinee price, I thought.

("Without a Paddle" isn't worth matinee price, by the way. If there was ever any question of that.)

Re: Paparazzi

I dont' know, I saw without a paddle the other night and didn't think it was to bad. It' was one of the only options of films left and I didn't really want to see it but I did and wasn't disapointed. I'm passing on Paparazzi and waiting for cellular.

There's only one word for that.

Magic.

Re: Paparazzi

I haven't seen it yet, but my brother and uncle (Who was one of the Set designers on Spiderman 1 and Ocean's 12) saw it today and liked it, since several have said they liked it, i guess I will spend my money this week.

Re: Paparazzi

The story involves more than just a car accident happening and him getting PO'd because of it. His wife is seriously injured and his son is put in a coma because of the Paparazzi... a little more than they show in the trailer.

This of course pushes the actor over the edge. It seems a lot less whiney than you guys are making it out to seem.

Re: Paparazzi

Dunno...

Haven't seen it, but read a review (never trust the film critics!) with one star attached. Apparently, other than a lame story, serious continuity problems throughout the film. It's not the kind I'd want to spend my 'going out to movies' pocket money anyway, so I'll have to wait until someone lends me a DVD to make a judgement...
