So after much designing lately with new products that I'm currently making with CNC machines, my Maya time is kind of my hobby now, that's when I get free time. I'm mostly designing on my PC's, but with machine type Cad Cam software, nothing like motion picture stuff.
I've recently installed a Radeon X 800XT mac edition 256mb graphics card. My question is what does open GL Override do exactly and can I benefit from using it?
In my System Preferences, there's a icon on the left that says 3D . I click it and I'm now seeing a button called OpenGL@ Overrides . It's asking me if I'd like to select or add an application to apply override settings to. It's right by the box that says Application Profile. I've selected/added Maya.app. Then there's a bunch of Preset performance stuff.
I'm running a second gen. G5 pretty much max out.
2.0 dual processor
6.5 gigs of ram
if this helps any...
Thanks
Chris
