I have Finalcut Pro X, do I need Pluraleyes. (re: Pluraleyes/Videomic Pro deal)

(Sorry about that confusing thread title) I just found out that there is a special deal running through the end of December where you get a free copy of Pluraleyes 3 with a purchase of a Rode Videomic Pro. I already own a Videomic Pro but I am thinking of purchasing another one and re-selling it on eBay just so I can get the Pluraleyes software.

I already have Finalcut Pro X, would Pluraleyes be redundant? I did some searching and some people say that they prefer Pluraleyes for syncing but most of the advice I can find on the web is several months old. Has Finalcut Pro X audio syncing improved since it's introduction?

I figure that I can re-sell the Videomic Pro on eBay and my overall loss after the original purchase cost, selling fees, taxes, etc. would be about $50 or $60. Do you think it is worth it in light of the fact that I already have Final Cut Pro X?

I am a beginner and the projects I have in mind for now are mainly interview style films using two cameras with each film being about 5 minutes long. Any advice is greatly appreciated!

It's redundant. Just import the video and audio clips into FCPX. Select both clips, right click, synch. Done.

All of my filming these days is done with dual audio, and the synch clips feature has worked 100% of the time for me from day one.

I usually clap my hands at the beginning of a take, and this audio spike acts as a handy (pun intended) reference for the software. However, in scenes where there was no clap FCPX still managed to synch without any problem.

Just to clarify...if I have 2 clips from two different cameras and both have audio, I can select, right click, and sync?

Yes (provided they were shot in the same place at the same time with the same audio source :)

Although, I'd normally make a multicam clip at the same time to make it trivial to edit.

What I meant was if I shoot a clip with one camera and record the audio with the on-board mic.

At the same time, I record another angle with another camera using that camera's on-board audio.

I also have a zoom H4n recording audio.

Can I sync the three easily?

Yes. That's what Exact was talking about. In your situation, it would be best to use the multicam functionality to synch and edit. Watch this short tutorial. It's exactly what you are trying to do based on your description.
