How do I burn my videos to DVD in Vegas?

I'm back!!!!!!!

I have finally fixed my computer so I can load video, which I have done. I took some footage from a VHS, loaded into Vegas 5.0 using Adaptect!, which worked fine. I was able to edit it, etc. Now I want to burn a dvd, take that dvd, load the video onto my home system, and E-mail the footage to friends (with sound). I have to manual: DVD Architect and Instant Vegas and the DVD Architect is too descriptive and not pinpoint; the Instant Vegas is better but it doesn't have much info regarding how to do all that is required to burn DVD's. Can anyone help me on this? I spent a whole day on it, reading the manual, trying different rendering/saves, and no luck. I did manage to save the video on a DVD in a Windows Media Player format, and it would play on my editing system; when I took it to my home computer, it doesn't even show up as a file on the DVD. I'm not sure how I was able to get it on the DVD because I had tried so many things, then I looked and there it was. I was able to save the file over to Architect as a MPEG*1 file, which took a while because Architect kept looking for .dra files, but I finally got it over there; then, when I tried to used the "burn CD" function in both Vegas 5.0, or DVD Architect, many times I was able to render, but when I went to save it to the DVD, I got the message "Please insert a write once disk in the drive and press OK to contine", which didn't make sense because there was nothing on the DVD, which is a DVD-R-WR DVD; I also tried regular 80 minute CD's but they didn't work either. Hope this is enough info. Help. Thanks. (denoams2003@yahoo.com)

OK, seriously. You need to use paragraphs. That was a hard read.

I'm not 100% sure what you're trying to do. It seems like you want to burn your video as a video DVD, then rip the DVD and make e-mail videos out of it?

There's no reason to do that. You want to render as WMV; forget MPEG; forget burning a video DVD. DVD Architect doesn't even enter the calculus here.

Use one of the WMV templates to render a file of e-mail size (I'd say, 5MB or less). Start with the 256K template and go higher if you get a small size but poor quality. Go for the best quality/filesize ratio you can get; WMV is good for that.

If you're using a different computer and want to transport the video to the one you'll e-mail, you can burn the WMV files to a CD or as data on a DVD, take them to your other computer, save them to your hard drive, and then e-mail them. (You can probably attach them to e-mail straight from the disc, but I find it's more reliable to have it on your HDD first.)

You can burn as data to CD or DVD using RecordNow! or Nero or some other data-burning software; it always comes with a burner.

Thanks for responding.

I tried something new where I have Sorenson Squeeze and tried to burn my dvd with that and in a .wav file rather than the .avi file; the results were files and folders on the dve (?);

Question:
Do you ever load video on the Internet? If so, what are your steps in how you do that? I know this may take a little more time but if I got a step by step guide (rather than using that manual), I can understand it better. Thanks.
