Hollywood is a lost cause.
Too corporate, too corrupt, too removed from audience tastes and merit. They only exist thanks to an artificially-rigged monopoly.
If Hollywood abandoned the US for China that would be fabulous-then homegrown Western film could re-assert itself.
Quality would improve. Right now they stifle artistic innovation and grassroots cultural expression.
If Hollywood faced competition it would be screwed given their narrow thematic sensibilities and hiring requirements (which get more restricted each year).
