Hollywood director answering questions

Excellent link - thanks for sharing !
You're also totally right about it being a potential black hole time wise.

Great sig btw...

Not to say this person won't give good advice but he works in corporate and web.
He states he doesn't do TV or features. I guess technically he is a "hollywood" director if
thats where he lives but not quite a "hollywood" director in the regular sense of the word.

I think you can find many of the same right here on this site.

And with real names and examples to back it up...

Here you mean? An internet forum like this has Q&A at its core...

Sure, but who is putting themselves out there for the less-experienced or less-knowledgeable to ask the questions they are wanting to ask? Plus these boards are split up into multiple categories and information is disseminated. It's not like the full-time directors are perusing every subforum and answering every question.

Classic glass-half-empty view if you ask me. There is such a wealth of information on every relevant topic available in places like this from very knowledgeable/experienced people, 24/7/365, that to bemoan its not being set up in a formal Q&A format is like complaining that it rains occasionally...

Oh don't mistake me, I am not complaining. I'm simply explaining why I think something like this holds a different value than what is available on these forums.

Just read the reddit post, thought it was fantastic. The director answering the questions is working steadily, no longer a PA, but still in the beginning of his directing career. Haven't seen much written from that POV before, and it fills in some gaps in the directing career path that I didn't know existed.
