DVD Studio Pro 3 - Motion Menues with Motion Buttons

I hope I'm not jumping the gun by asking this question but I've spent the better part of the day learning how to create layered menues in DVDSP3. I've been doing a lot of reading in Ken Stone's Website and can't find nor figure out how to setup a motion menu with motion icons appearing when a button is selected. Seems like it should be relatively simple but maybe I've been at it for too long today and can't think straight.

I'm familiar with creating a Layered Menu using a multi-layer Photoshop (PS) file. I can assign a static background from the PS file and have created transparent button areas in DVDSP3 over top of my PS text links to bring up a little static icon which appears beside the link when the button area is selected. I thought that was fairly straightforward after I figured it out by doing various tutorials.

Now what I would like to do is this:

1-Have a motion background
2-use the PS text layer on top of the background showing all my links
3-create button areas for each link (like I did in the above tutorial)
4-upon selecting a button area, a little motion icon would appear beside the selection. (the text link doesn't have to highlight or anything, I just want the motion icon to appear).

I don't know how to make the above work. The DVDSP3 Manual doesn't help me much, although I haven't read it through from begining to end. I've tried importing my photoshop document into FCP4.5 and replaced my static background layer motion background. But, when I render using compressor then bring it into DVDSP3 it doesn't work the same way as when I brought the static PS file in.

I hope my question makes sense. Any help one could provide would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you all for you time,

(M)
