Corporate Video shot w 7D

Heres a corporate project I finished last week shot entirely with the Canon EOS 7D. Edit and Grading in EDIUS.

The crane shots were done with a DIY 13 foot jib. But otherwise, all the dolly/track shots were done with the DIY mini track & jib.
How to make the DIY mini track & Jib in this thread;

It looks good, but I find those jump cuts to be kind of annoying. It just doesn't fit with the atmosphere, at least not for me. But otherwise it's great.

Cassius,

Thanks for the constructive comments.

Yeah, I know some would notice, but as in most corporate work where the talking heads are not professional actors or talents, you sometimes have to hide errors by removing spaces between words and or change the context of their often times unscripted responses.

Having said that, its ideally "covered" by cutaways, unfortunately in this case, due to very tight schedules I didnt have enough cutaway material.

I ended up just changing the framing using the layout function everytime I had to cut.

Anyhow the client has very pleased with the outcome, as they knew how dragging their phrases were. having seen it shortened and "snappy" they understood the jump cuts as the compromise.

Hey, man. It looks good. Thanks for sharing.

Obviously, you've turned it in already, but the only two main things I would comment on would be the font at around 4:35 or so... I guess that might be a font they use, but that little section there goes from pretty nicely polished corporate vibe to "training video" vibe, if you will.. The other thing would be if you could somehow manage to kill some of the cavernous echo in all of their monologues.

At any rate, it was nicely done work. How did the client come into contact with you, if you don't mind?

Later,
Jason

Thanks for the comments jason,

Yeah, the bradley fonts is from them, had to use that for branding purposes.

we shot the piece in a building under construction thats very much cavernous and empty and in some cases had some machine noise in the background.

I don't work with agencies as its part of my value proposition to clients to cut their production cost Jason, for this project the real estate consultant whom I have worked for in numerous real estate projects got me on board.
