Convert 60fps to 30fps

Hey,

I have some material from different gopro cameras. Some are 60fps, and some are 30fps. How do I convert 60 to 30 in premiere so that the videos match?

Open 60p footage in ME.

Disable frame blending.

Export as 30p.

Or . . .

Edit all footage in your project on a 30p sequence.

Disable frame blending.

Export as 30p.

EDIT: My apologies; I had originally written "field blending" here. I don't know why; in my head it was never anything but "frame blending."

Edit footage in a 30p sequence, do you mean change the replay time (time remapping in AE), and disable field blending?

Whats ME?

No, I mean Frame Blending. What you want is for Premiere/Media Encoder to take every other 60p frame cleanly and make it into a 30p frame, dropping all the other frames completely. If you don't disable frame blending, it will blend frames together and give you ghosting.

So, you right-click on a clip, and uncheck "Frame Blend."

ME = Media Encoder. There's a box toward the bottom which says "Use Frame Blending." Uncheck it.

Hmm okey, I thought it was the same thing as interpret 60fps footage in After effects as 30fps.

So I can make a 30fps sequence in Premiere, put the 60fps clips in it, aswell as the 30fps clips, and everything will play up in the same speed when I export it as 30fps?

Btw, frame blend seems to be disabled by default.

That's correct, drop and play. Frame blending should NOT be on by default. Premiere is smart enough to play 60p clips properly in a 30p sequence without user intervention.

On a related note, how can I make a 30P clip play at 30P in a 24P project, for a slight slomo effect? Do I need to modify the speed of every 30P clip? Premiere seems to correct and play everything at 24P.
