Bootcamps coming back to LA

Hi Jarred and all,
I've just sign up for the HVX Bootcamp on the 29th and I'm looking forward to a giant braindump. I was hoping for a few logistical pointers..

I saw the post regarding the Hilton near the Burbank airport but my questions are:
Are there any other out of towners staying in the vicinity? Do you have other hotel recommendations.
Do I need a car from the airport or could I cab it from the hotel to Able Cine Tech?
Thanks for any input as i now book a flight and hotel.
Ray

Hi All,

I hope to have someone at the Boot Camp to show our new Mac software. I am burning the candle at both ends to get this done and ready for sale at the boot camp.

Just out of curiosity, how many of you going would like to see a steadicam flyer in person? Anyone interested in learning how to fly a steadicam ( in general not at the boot camp)?

Thanks
Ben

Hi Ben,

Well, I guess no one else is jumping up to respond so I will.... Heck yes!! I'd love to see a steadicam flyer and I would love to learn how to "fly" one. Count me in for sure. I know learning to use one is not a quick process, but if you could demo the steadicam, even after the bootcamp if you're willing to hang around for awhile, I know I'd sure appreciate it and I probably wouldn't be the only one.

I, for one, want to learn all I can and from what I've seen, the steadicam is a wonderful tool for video makers!

Looking forward to meeting you in about 7 days!

Charles

Hi Chilla,

Glad to hear someone is interested in the Steadicam :')

I just bought a Flyer.. But My Friend who is Steadicam Certified is in LA, I am East coast, has the Flyer. I am hoping he will attend the boot camp, show off my software as well as show off the flyer.

I need to visit him in the next month to learn how to fly it.

As much As I would love to be out at the West Coast Boot Camp, I will not be able to attend. So with any luck, you with Meet Richard Brown (my west coast partner in crime), an excellent DP and photographer as well as Steadicam operator.

Please speak up if you have any interest in seeing a steadicam up close and personal, the more people who are interested, the more likely he is to haul it with him.

Thanks
Ben
