Hallo,

i m editing a timeline 1080 50 i, now i want to render even in mpg 2 for DVarch. What output do u suggest for the volume?
I usually don't go over-6
Thank u

That will be fine. There are a few adjustments that you want to make to the standard AC-4 template though so that it will sound better.

Encode set to AC3;
Click on custom tab;
On the first tab set Dialog normalization to "-31";
On the last tab marked preprocessing;
Set the Line Mode & RF mode profiles to "None";
Now save this as a preset.

If you're doing AC-3 Stereo, you can ignore everything I say about the Phase Shift option, it's greyed out of course.

Dialog Norm at -31 (this sets it at unity gain)
RF and Line Mode DRC Off (WYHIWYG)
DC High Pass Filter On (this operates at <=3Hz and takes DC bias out of the mix)
Bandwidth Low Pass Filter On
90 Deg Phase Shift On

Assuming you're using Vegas Pro...

After you set your general level, you can add audio fx Wave Hammer Surround to the audio Master Bus (will affect the whole project) and set the drop down preset to "Limit at 6dB and maximize". This will bring up lower audio and also limit it to 6dB under zero.

Depending on your project, you may/may not want this as the volume nuances won't be there, but you'll be able to hear everything without clipping. You can always try it then remove it if you don't like it.
