This movie used to be on HBO all the time back in 1993. I was 14 and I remember seeing it all the time late at night when I'd be cruising the channels for softcore.
I thought of it the other week and had to see it again. It's extreme Brooklyn run and gun, and it works well without giving you a headache. Very oldschool independent feel.
It's a tragic story about a few small time crooks that get involved in selling guns. Peter Greene (better known as "Zed" or "Redfoot") is the lead, and he does his best to look after his overzealous friend. Paul Schulze and Edie Falco are also in it. Flawed heroes and flighty villians. Great acting all around.
If you haven't seen it, try and get yourself a copy. Inter-library loans might be your best bet. Unfortunately, it's strictly VHS. I think it's really, really good, and has some Samuel Beckett'esque qualities to it.
Here's some quick grabs I made that might help jog some memories. The quality is crap (VHS to DVD transfer).
