15mm extension rod screw size

Good afternoon fellow diy-ers!

Does anyone know the standard size of the screws used on 15mm rods extensions?
I found these on ebay but planning to buy a big BSW rod/bar and cut my own.

My rods are from P & C but I'd rather just use my own screw in between rods than purchase a new set from them.

Many thanks :)

Well I'm not entire sure there is a standard, as far as extension screws are concerned. Right from the ebay listing...

"Notes: Only Work With Our Lanparte 15MM Aluminum Rods !"

If you already have the rods, why don't you just take them to a hardware store and see if you can match them up to some threaded rod? Keep in mind that the size/pitch might be an oddball size and you might not be able to find threaded rod to fit.

The only problem is you can't get Withworth/Imperial/BSW screws or rods in the major DIY shops in England anymore. Only metric.
So I usually order my screws on ebay.

Just to confirm that there's absolutely no way for you to use the LPT extension screws unless you have the same thread on the inside of your rails.
They are a great little tool for making the rails a lot more versatile; I'm not sure why more manufacturers don't jump on the bandwagon and come up with some kind of standard for it.

I guess they's rather make more money selling you a whole extension rod rather than a pair of screws...

OK. found the thread size.
For the P&C rods it's a Metric 12 (M12) in the UK.

I bought a 1m threaded rod from my local B&Q for £3.48
I'll be cutting it off to length so if anyone desperately needs a pair and can't find a rod in their local store, email me and I'll send as long as you pay the postage.
