Why the hell would they make these for MFT but ***NOT*** make the mount be swappable by the user?? It boggles the mind.
On the upside however we're now seeing a glorious explosion of options in PL lenses on the "affordable" end (although the Tokina lens is surprisingly expensive for its brand...
My blog post on this news: http://ironfilm.co.nz/news-leak-zoom-f4-with-six-inputs-and-eight-tracks-is-like-a-new-low-priced-zoom-f8/ (some of it repeated below)
I thought the Zoom F8 when it was announced was a groundbreaking new recorder in what it brought to a new low price point for...
The F5 is currently v4.11 (same as Paul Ream was running. As I just now updated the F5 from v4.00).

When it comes to replacing line 150 from 001.ALL that I saved to the SD card from the F5, I already have:
Thus it seems strange to replace it with the exact...
About to start shooting a vampire comedy feature film with both the F5 and a7S mk2 together in 4K, the a7S mk2 is for the purpose of a smaller gimbal camera.
Any particular tips/suggestions I should be aware of beforehand?
For instance I am thinking it is probably best they both use slog2...
Yessssssssss! Been eagerly waiting for them to fill in the gap between 16mm and 24mm, as that gap was just too darn big and was rather annoying (even worse if you needed full frame, was a leap from 14mm to 24mm!). Now I just need to save up the US$600ish the lens will cost...
I'm looking to upgrade the stock Sony UWP-D11 lav mic, my uses will be usually under clothing, from my research so far it seems Oscar SoundTech offers amazing value for money. With a price way below the other mainstream high quality lavs, but delivering performance at a near enough level to...
hmmm.... decisions decisions, a new Tascam DR-70D for only US$200 or 2ndhand Tascam DR-680 mk1 for US$320 or 2ndhand Tascam DR-680 mk2 for US$425 or a new Zoom F8 for US$1k??
(context: I'd be using it with several radio mics and a boom, and a Sound Devices 552 in front of it as a mixer, for...
I kinda almost half checked to see if it is still April the 1st when I read this! :-P
<<Zaxcom today announced their latest line of digital recording wireless transmitters with a brand new modulation, Zaxcom High Density (ZHD). ZHD modulation allows for up to 10 channels of wireless to be...
Would the Rode Blimp be the best Blimp to go for on a budget? Or is it worth spending a little more? (I'll be using it with a NTG2)
http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1056426-REG/rode_blimp_windsheild_rycote_lyre_suspension.html
Is the K-TEC better than the RODE Blimp perhaps...
They've shipped lots and lots and LOTS of cameras, probably in the thousands I assume.
And they've got heaps of models now! Not including their older models, but here is the list of ones they make and sell right now:
About to buy half a dozen Xiaomi Yi cameras, I know there are a few slight variations of XiaoMi Yi which are out now.... and as it is very important I get six *identical* ones (because will be used for 360 video) am wondering which is the best XiaoMi Yi camera variant to go with? Thank you :)

The camera can do this, but I have to put "Dual-Link & Gama Select" to the "Off" setting first to see the "HD SDI & HDMI" option pop up for me under "SDI/HDMI/i.Link I/O Select" menu. Otherwise it is not there at all...
Came across this YT video and thought I'd share it with the community:

At loooooong last the very long awaited Sony A6300 has been announced (along with 3 sweet sweet lenses, that Sony E mount desperately needs).
These specs in particular are juicy:
new 24MP BSI sensor (yay, BSI!)
11fps
4D focus
4K 30fps video (no pixel binning 14 stops dynamic range, 100MPS)...
Still only 2015, but getting in early with my top prediction for cameras to be announced at NAB 2016: URSA Mini 2.5K MFT!
Simply put it is the 2.5K sensor from the BMCC 2.5K put in the URSA Mini body, and using the MFT mount of course.
Don't need to touch or change a thing, and if it sells...
I just got a Minolta Auto Meter IVF as my first ever lightmeter, based on my research it appears to be the best value low priced one. (and I got it at a great sale price from KEH!)
This however is my dream one, is kinda pricey however...
yay, H.265 support!! Samsung NX1 users will be so stoked, over the moon.
> "H.265 support but it’s listed as Studio only on OS X"
Ohhh.... oh well, I guess it will eventually filter across to the free Windows version as well...
