Hi all,
I finally got around to reviewing clips I captured for my doc. The video is smooth (no dropped frames), but the audio sometimes skips during playback. Each skip is probably about 1/10th of a sec but it's noticeable. It's not in any regular frequency - some clips' autio is quite choppy...
Hey guys, someone mentioned they like 'behind the scenes' pics. Here are some I took last month for a director in Toronto. They are not frame grabs from a DVX, though (it's Canon D60). I'll be posting some grabs from my shoot in Europe, hopefuly this weekend.

Well, five weeks after ordering 240V power cords for my trip to Europe, Lowell (or is it the dealer?) hasn't delivered yet >:(. I have the 240V bulbs, so I am taking the lights no matter what...
In case I won't have the cords by Saturday, and I don't find suitable cords locally (Germany, Czech...
That's Mother Nature, Director of Photography for you.
After a great two-day shoot with Barry, it was a rainy Sunday in DC. I headed out to Skyline Drive and here are some shots of what M.N. had in store for me...
It's a bit soft because Photoshop apparently resized from the original size for...
I took some shots this weekend with the anamorphic and only had time to watch it on my TV (not to download into a computer yet).
Some shots seemed to have a bluish 'halo' spilling from bright blue sky into the shadows (tree trunk and some branches) on one side of the shadows, the other side had...
Yes, it was a beautiful day yesterday in Washington DC. I came out of the concrete building housing the office that pays my filmmaking bills, put on my polarizing sunglasses, and the world changed...
...and I thought, "gee it would be great to put a pola filter in front of my anamorphic adapter...
...the more amazed you will be how things work. I just went to the Dalsa website, and found this:

Makes you really appreciate how the DVX (and other cameras) are capable of producing such beautiful images...
Okay - here is a good one. I've been debating whether posting something like this here, but then I thought - what the heck?
I am working on a sort of 'personal documentary' where I stumble upon an interesting piece of my family's history here in Toronto that was previously unknown to (hidden...
I am going to shoot in a hall and an office with large windows - i.e., a lot of natural light. I want to use some tungsten fill, but I found that if I just use full CTB in front of my Lowell Omni, I get fairly harsh shadows from that.
I want to soften it, so I tried to use a diffusion screen...
Hi all,
Next week I am going to shoot some interviews for my documentary, and I don't want to use make-up. However, I want to be able to control shine on people's faces while keeping their natural skin tones. I am looking for something I can get at a local drugstore. This is all total unknown...
Hi all,
I would like to make a DOF & hyperfocal distance chart for the DVX100A, but I am not sure what COC (Circle of Confusion) value I should use. It could be an 'educated guesss', given the 1/3" CCD and pixel dimensions, but I was wondering if anyone knows the exact value.
This could also...
