capturing DV is no problem. when I switch to HDV aI get this The device ‘Microsoft AV/C Tape Subunit Device’ could not be opened. Please make sure that it is turned on and is not being used by another application or user. Any ideas?

is there something I'm not doing?

I"m reading the requirements for the FCP studio, and it states G5 needed for HD DVD authoring. Just to be certain, do they mean HD format recorded to DVD? My plan is to downconvert to SD before DVD authoring, which I would assume does NOT require a G5.
