I'm trying to log & capture DVCAM footage to Final Cut Pro. The footage appears fine in L & C window, but the reel doesn't show up when I try to capture. DVCAM (NTSC) doesn't appear as a choice either in the video playback window or in the L & C window.
Any tips?
Have any of you hearrd of catching a "rod" on film? It's something I never heard of, but now I seem to have caught one. It's supposedly a microscopic critter that is known to exist, but are too fast to see. My "rod" looks like a snake with legs, captured on one frame.
I couldn't find any...
I have some footage (b roll) for my doc that was shot in letterbox, while the rest of the film is 4 x 3. Blowing up the footage is an obvious solution, but there must be a limit before the audience notices graininess. I always went by no larger than 10%, but unless I see the footage on a big...
As I go thru the 40 hours of footage for my first feature, I'm struck by the number of baaaad shots. This is a run 'n gun doc, never a shot that can be filmed again to get it right. With no budget, I had to use whatever camera operators I could get, including me and my producer. All but one (a...
Is there an easy way in FCP 4.5 to blurr or pixelate faces so they aren't recognizable? My doc has quite a few people who were filmed w/o permission due to the nature of the project.
Thanks.
Using a SonyDCR-TRV460 camera, I'm trying to convert old hi8 tapes to digital. The camera's connected by firewire to FCP 4.5. The video plays fine in log & capture, bt no time code appears & I can't log & capture. Sony tells me the camera may not be compatible with FCP.
In an unrelated (maybe)...
I need to get a 60 sec. film clip to my web page. I've compressed it to a 14 MG file in QuickTime (MPG1), but can't upload it via email (too large) or burn a DVD (iDVD won't accept MPG files). My ISP has tried to upload using FTP, but it doesn't work. Did I create a bad QT file? What would you...
I'm just finishing editing a 90 min. doc about a polygamous community and their widespread welfare fraud and abuse of women and children. I've shown a short version at a few film festivals and private screenings, mostly to gauge audience response. I'm no Michael Moore (and don't want to be), but...
