Is this microphone to any use for a DVX 100A? I just got an offer to buy a used one.

Hi all I tried to record material from my Sony D8 yesterday to my DVX-100A. I connencted both the cameras through composite but I did not get a picture in my DVX. From the DVX to the Sony worked without problem. I really tried to do what says in the manual but I´m sure I´m missing something...
