Does everyone use it for interviews? I use promist for some stills (when I've got time) but never use it for video - I'd really like to give it a go though.
Some great advice, thanks everyone for sharing your specs - I need it pretty soon so unfortunately can't wait for the next release. Looked at the M4 Max and M3 Ultra and I think the M3 Ultra will be the one.
I'm looking at replacing my iMac (I7, 32gb RAM) with a Mac Studio, it's been a reliable machine but getting tired now and won't run the latest version of Resolve.
For those of you who run a mac studio with Resolve, what specs did you end up with and have you been happy with it? I'm mainly...
I think treading carefully and checking that all the features needed actually function as expected (not crippled somehow) is the only way to go. I can understand why manufacturers don't want to impact sales of another model but I've often been annoyed at my C200 with things not working...
I've got a friend with a Canon R3 - he had a problem with my Elinchrom Transmitter Pro (off camera flash trigger) where it wouldn't fire. He had the shutter set to electronic, switched over to mechanical and all sorted. I think (not sure because I don't have any mirrorless kit to test) that with...
Frustrating. If it can't fire a flash then there seems little point in putting a still OS onto it - I wouldn't take it out on a job to shoot stills without that capability, I use flash all the time.
It's certainly very viable for me as a gimbal camera though.
I really like the look of this for a gimbal camera. Shame there's no built in ND but I can get around that with the ND RF to EF adaptor, all of my glass is EF mount. I was interested in the stills mode which would save me taking a still body with me but noticed it doesn't have a mechanical...
I'm wondering if this will have built in ND. If it does then it might be the gimbal camera I've been looking for. Doesn't look like it's got the space though?
I'm still thinking about a C70 to match to my C300 iii, they can be had for a good price but I've been thinking for about 5 months now :D
Point from Charles about using two cameras to cut to different angles either side of b-roll never occurred to me and I can see the value in that to keep things interesting. I'm shooting a recruitment video fro a small business next month which will have quite a few interviews (testimonials from...
With students, particularly younger ones who can be difficult on camera, just getting audio from them can be useful across b-roll. No need to roll a camera.
Edit myself most of the time now, I did work with another editor for a couple of years who was brilliant with inserting animation graphics onto chromakey interviews.
I sometimes end up shooting the interview right at the end of the day despite asking that it comes first, then it's a pain to find relevant b-roll to shoot. I like to have the interview first so I can have a bit of time to listen to the content and plan the b-roll shots to get the most value.
I...
I got by with a couple of Rode Filmmaker wireless lavs with my C100 for a few years, you can pick them up pretty cheap used now, probably because they're a bit bulky. Perfectly ok though, never given me any problems, dead simple to set up and I still use them for interviews with farmers (no...
