So I recently returned from training on the EX at Sony Canada. There's nothing new I can tell you that hasn't already been posted by Mikko from IBC etc. except that Sony Canada seems intent on making it price competitive to the U.S.
So I'm wondering how you guys see the camera. It has some...
I havent seen any rates for news stringers I'm thinking i will get my new a1 and change my rates per story what do you all think would be a good rate for news footage per station per story.

Here's the deal everyone:
Panasonic did drop the price of the cameras, but NOT the cards.
We have two cameras in stock right now that we are blowing out below cost at $5400. I will take deposits right away on these two.
After these are gone we will try to get more at that price. We will be...
For anyone in the Vancouver area who wants to check out the FTX trade show this weekend, I've got four free tickets to give away. Call me or PM me if you're interested and you can pick them up from me here at Leo's.

Leo's is overstocked on HVXs and DVXs. For the month of September we are selling these cameras for considerably less than normal. This applies only to items currently in stock. Contact me for specific prices, or if I have done a recent quote for you let me know so I can update it.
BTW, we are an...
Panasonic Canada has announced the end of this great camera. This one was always a favourite of mine for it's high image quality and compact size. The infrared mode opens up lots of creative possibilites and it makes a fine companion camera to the DVX when shooting 60i.
Anyway, we will only be...
Panasonic Canada issued a price drop on the 8GB cards. This will also bring down the price of the HVX/8GB combos.
Contact me for your DVXuser discount prices. We have lots of stock!
I'm not sure if this has been covered already but...
When we first got the P2 Store in it didn't appear to be compatible with Mac OSX. The computer would recognize the drive via Disk Utility but it wouldn't appear on the desktop and you couldn't access the files. There didn't seem to be any...
We now have P2 Stores in stock! We'll do dome testing soon and let you know what we think of the workflow.
Now that we have lots of stock of the HVX, Leo's is also now renting the HVX w/ 2 4GB cards and the P2 Store as well.
Cheers!
8 GB P2s are starting to TRICKLE in here in Canada. Until we get regular stock we won't have the cards for sale individually but we will have limited packages of the HVX with one 4GB and one 8GB card that will cost less than the camera with 3 4B cards.
If anyone is interested please call or...
Some of here at Leo's in Vancouver wil be involved in a camera test with the HVX, DVX, XL-H1, XL2, HD100 and Z1U next week.
After the test we will have access to the footage so anyone in the area who is interested can come down to the store and take a look. I will make a post when we have it...
I was going to make a post saying we got seven cameras in yesterday, but they've all been sold/spoken for. I have two more coming in early next week from our first order, and another order to follow soon!
We just got our demo HVX this morning! It arrived earlier than expected so I hope this bodes well for our first inventory shipment.
One thing I haven't seen much discussion about - and forgive me if this HAS been covered - is tripods.
It seems that a lot of potential HVX users are upgrading from...
We just had our HVX orientation with the guys from Panasonic Canada last night, so I thought you'd like to hear the point of view of someone who sells these things side by side with the other HD and SD cams.
WOW.
Just like when the DVX was introduced, it made me wish I really had something...
