I bought one of these https://www.amazon.com/l/9514730011 and it's great. There is definitely some latency - I would say it's about 1/4 second delay which is OK for my purposes. I always keep a set of back up wired ear buds with me just in case. I have it mounted to my FS7 via velcro.

Anyone know if it's possible to remove the microphone mount on the FS5? I want to mount the microphone further back on the camera and the mount will be in the way. Obviously looking for a non destructive method, I'm coming from the C100 and liked the flexibility that removing the mount offered.
