Best Eastwood Film.....

A friend and I were having a pretty heated debate about Eastwood and his films. This guy has amassed some filmography over the years; All with one studio. Pretty amazing. And for the most part all quality material.

Now, what is your favorite Eastwood film(acting or directing).

There's a lot of favorites for me, but, the first that always comes to mind is

"In the line of fire" - I love that film.

The Man with No Name trilogy is great in my book...as far as directing, I really, really like Unforgiven. In the Line of Fire is pretty good as well...

Leary (Malkovich): Do you have what it takes to take a bullet or is life too precious?
Frank (Eastwood): Well I'll be thinkin' about that when I'm pissin' on your grave.

Vintage Clint.

Favorite movie (maybe not his best acting, though) The Outlaw Josie Wales. I also thought Play Misty for Me (the original Fatal Attraction?) was a great movie.

As far as directing, I'd have to say Mystic River.

There is just too many too choose from...

I love ...

Unforgiven.
Play misty for me.
Dirty Harry.
Tightrope.
The man with no name trilogy
Mystic River.
Million Dollar Baby

Ooh yeah...it's tough to say that anything is placed above the Man with No Name, let's be honest.

Just almost bought In The Line of Fire for $2 on VHS at this amazing ghetto video store, but decided not to because I think it deserves the widescreen. But man...if that is your fav above any of his early stuff, I can't help but feel you may have missed the boat. He just looks so old, and weak. Still great though, don't get me wrong. kickasss film -- except I tend to think Malkovich stands out more there than he does. What a villain...!!!

His character in the film wouldn't have worked if he was young and strong. That's the whole point of the movie, the old, weak, secret service agent.

:furious3: :furious3:

My all time favorite Eastwood film has to be "A Perfect World".

It is both his (as a director) and Kevin Costner's best work.

Amazing.

yes, yes! haha, true. I stand corrected.

When I think of Clint, though, immediately badass comes to mind. Not old and weak.

Actually, I think that's what keeps him relevant, instead of a has been trying to act young. (Harrison Ford and Sean Connery have both done well in this area, too.) For me, Heartbreak Ridge kind of set the tone for what was coming in his "aging" process.

"Every Which Way But Loose" Filo Betto ****ing rules!

Actually, I really did enjoy these movies as a kid. "Right turn, Clyde."

The Man With No Name trilogy is classic, but "Unforgiven" just speaks to me. The way he returns to form in the last act is brilliant. Possibly my favorite western.

Super Trooper, "A Perfect World" is an awesome film. Way overlooked.

Yes. You know what, I take it all back. That is so true Blaine. Definitely.

(And by the way...ONE HUNDRED MUDDAFUGGIN POSTSSSSS!!!!)

Perfect World is an amazing movie. i haven't seen it in years. thats going in the queue (whenever i spell "queue" i do it to the tune of Louie, Louie. q U-E, U-E. Oh baby. We gotta go).

Unforgiven is up there too. Love the man with no name stuff but i don't think they can compete. beautiful, awesome movies but so damn slow.

and yeah, i think of line of fire as a malkovich movie. he won supporting actor for that too.

that's ma boy!

Don't even get me started on Clint. I love that guy. To me, he is THE quintessential Hollywood star. Not a bad actor, but he just exudes cool. I am a HUGE fan of all of his flicks. And have seen them all. Some, many more times than others. I love his Dirty Harry films. But, my all time FAVORITES are his Spaghetti Westerns. "FIST FULL OF DOLLARS", "FOR A FEW DOLLARS MORE" and "THE GOOD THE BAD AND THE UGLY". Clint in a western...nothing better. John Wayne was great, but Clint is the best.

Then you've got "High Plains Drifter", or "Hang 'em High"...heck I even liked "Paint Your Wagon"!

Clint, to me is the best, then there is everybody else.

I am with you rlm... I am such a huge Eastwood fan. I love them all!

I've probably watched Fist Full of Dollars and High Plains Drifter the most though.

Huge fan I tell you!

Seriously...there is NO one I'd rather sit and have a chat with than him. Okay...Angelina Jolie has a few points...but Clint Eastwood is bar none my idol for so many reasons...
