OSA 35EV2 with *new* GG ... the "glassscreen" (micro wax) didn't satisfied me.
As you (maybe) recognize the GG has no grain..
What do you think?

These are frames shot with my Sony TRV 900E in low light
And full-res Pal footage:
Some footage under normal light conditions an without hotspot will follow. Can this adapter compete with the G35?

i think your mistaken about the grain situation, because I definitely see it. some of those stills, though, look really cool.

It's really hard to tell by these grabs because as it is, they don't look so good (soft and dark). I didn't download your full-res footage as I'm guessing it's a large file size and I'm impatient.

Maybe a compressed version instead of full-res? Otherwise if I made a call based on what I see here......I think the G35 and some other homemade adapters I've seen look better. So please.......prove me wrong and post some better grabs or smaller clip.

Oh you re right there is some grain, but i think this is not a GG issue - my camera start to give some grain when it gets dark. Though this is a dvx forum i don't own one.. *sigh*
I will shot some non-dawn footage tomorrow an upload it in non high-res.

Ok - there is grain, mkay.. this adapter is not a revolution, but i think i ve created a tool i can work with! Maybe it would look better if i had a dvx100.. *sigh*
The GG is something special with max. 15% light-loss. In the USA this is known "opto fiber", in Germay it is called "Lichtleiter Platte" and used in most "Arriflex" Viewfinders.

I think it is a bit sharper and brighter than micro-wax, but not very much.
There will be a little upgrade (Kondensor lens) soon - to get rid of the minimal Hotspot.
