Azden 200ULT 2 Ch On-Cam Wireless

Joe,

I've seen the ads for it, but haven't actually had one hands-on.

I think you will find here that the general feeling is that the G2's are the wireless of choice for anything less than Lectro 4xx series (well, maybe 2xx series if you can still get them). But, with a huge cost difference.

I know lots of people that have bought Azden and hated them and/or had to replace them because they didn't hold up well.

I use G2's now, and love them.

no, wouldnt touch it with a really long barge pole. hate azden... very consumer, for home movies sort of stuff usually.

Oh well, that's what I wanted to know.

I'll probably go for the Senn G2 kit as it seems to be the best bang for the buck.

The 2 channel on-cam idea is a good one in concept. Maybe Sennheiser will do that at Summer NAMM or next year.

Thanks for the replies. I have no experience with Azden anything and am happy to be warned away by those in the know.

I have an unnatural hate for Azden & always have. A buddy of mine bought their shotgun/shock mount before I could stop him. Now he's paying the price.

The Lect's are AMAZING, but they too rich for my blood. The G2's are simply a better option considering the price.

There are two brands I will never buy-- Azden & Behringer. I'm sure that there are others, but I can't think of them off hand.

I agree with Tim & David in theory. All the Azden stuff I have ever used has been ****, but I've actually had decent luck with some Behringer rackmount stuff. Their amps in general are noisy, their mixers are decent for at risk situations (rain), but their effect units are solid. Just my opinion.

Just an update to say I did go with an Evolution G2 set from Sennheiser and am very happy with the results.
