I got some cool things last night

John, have you seen Apocalypse Now Redux? I have both versions, and was really excited about the Redux version. I found it a bit disappointing and just longer. I think there's a reason sometimes why there are deleted scenes. Let me know what you think.

I saw Redux in the theatres a few years back and my general impression was yeah somethings are better left cut. A couple of good additions though, but overall just dragged it down.

Hey, Happy Birthday man. Mine was on the 8th and my younger daughter's is on the 3rd (we took her to Buca). I got a bottle of 1970 Chateau Léoville Las-Cases and some yet-to-be determined gifts. Didn't even know you got XSI, those AE and XSI tutorials sound great. Do you like Redux? Apocalypse Now is my favorite movie of all time, so I haven't really wanted to see another version.

I loved Apocalypse Now, too. I couldn't wait to see Redux because I'm thinking this is what the director really wanted. I think the original is better. BUT, I think Redux is worth seeing. The Playboy bunnies scene is longer. There's a scene that takes place on a French plantation and a couple of others but I found the original to be tighter. It WAS a great flick, my favorite Vietnam War movie. I had no idea when I first saw it that the source material was Heart of Darkness. What a fantastic adaptation.

Yeah, I think Redux meanders quite a bit. It feels very disjointed in general, but definitely when compared to the original theatrical cut.

BTW, nice gifts Barry! My bday was the 6th, and sorry can't put in print what my gift was. Whoa!

Happy pre-Bday!

I'm one of the one's who got suckered by the lame double disc version of NOTLD that came out a few years ago. They put on a new shitty soundtrack by some duche-bag with a synth. I really need to pick up the millenium version.

I've got about five months before I'm 36. Damn, inching closer to the big four-o...

Happy Birthday JH. Don't forget about us when your memory starts to fade from old age. ...Wait, you're just 4 months older than me. Nevermind.

Hang on, what were we talking about?

Who are you?

What website is this? What happened to the Bee Arthur and Golden Girls forum?
