I filed an amendment for an old return, they claim they never received it and assessed me for $3000. If I don't pay they will just garnish my wages...and it says that once they are garnished they won't stop until they receive the amount or until an IRS agent decides to remove it

They are free to intimidate and overpower us whenever they want and there is nothing we can do.

I have paperwork that shows I don't owe the money (or so my company's stock department says), but I had to make payment arrangements to pay off the money owed while I re-file my ammendment (which they said will take 8 - 12 weeks to process). Then, if I am right after all they will happily refund my money.

AUUUGGGHHH!!!

Sorry, just frustrated and thought I'd vent among friends. I'll be alright now...I think.

Peace,
Larry

Is the IRS kinda like the TAX man like over here in the UK? pardon my ignorance.

Well if they are anything like the ones in the UK...

Oh, yeah.

Now my advise for those who die
Declare the pennies on your eyes

Larry, try and see how much it would be to create a new identity. Have a family member tell the IRS that your dead and there you go. Of course I would do it for a little bit more money than 3K.

Well, at least we the indie media can make films about the said Taxmen, thus cause a shift in opinions within the society and eventually cause a policy change.

Ah ha, the barrel of the camera is Mightier than the Barrel of the Gun.
