Magic Bullet Examples

Anyone want to share examples of pieces they have enhanced with Magic Bullet? I would find it helpful to learn of different things people have done with the software including info on presets and customization.

what about stuff using non- magic bullet. You know, like basic levels, color balance, etc?

Here is some of my work with the DVX.

Check out "Black Acre" and "Light Of Day"

All colour work & FX done in FCP only, (except 1 still in "Black Acre" from PS).

Hey when is Black Acre being released? I always liked the trailer and all that, just wondering if there's a dvd or anything in the pipes

Still working on the film. The trailer was a promo / camera test piece we put together in the very early stages just to shop the project. The response was excellent but I humbly admit that I have not kept the momentum going as well as I should have.

I really hope to have it completed and released by end of year.

Glad you dug it! Thanks!

Cheers,
Chris

Kai & Knock Out,

thanks for posting.

looked like Kai used the vignette effect a fair amount as well as some misfire elements on the New York footage. (seperate topic, but did you actually get to shoot some of that Afganistan stuff?) And Knock out emulated some of the green tones and desaturated feel of "the matrix" very effectively.

Could you share info on some of the specific effects and manipulations you found most helpful to your respective projects?

I'm putting together some Honkey Tonk concert footage and interviews for a 10 min promo piece and want to use MB to treat the different elements. I think hearing other people talk about their work would really jog my creative process on this.

thanks

Hey, Knock Out Films, with which camera you have filmed your 'Black Acre'-trailer? Great stuff!

I shot the "Black Acre" trailer with my DVX 100. I was an early adopter of the camera. I was out in LA helping out Darren Doanne on a few music vids, and I got a chance to see what the camera could do. As soon as I got back home I ordered one.

I am getting ready to ramp up production and am a little heart broken that I can't get my hands on the new HVX until the end of the year. Will probably finish the film with a Varicam.

Thanks for the kudos.

Cheers,
Chris

Color Finesse rocks. I've got magic bullet but I like doing everything manually. Sometimes it feels like you're cheating if you slap on magic bullet. I like to work for the look.

I use Magic Bullet on almost every video, but I use Magic Pookie on photos.

Here's a picture before Magic Pookie:

pk,
your post for "Romance is Dead" (screengrabs before and after MB) earlier today is what prompted me to ask the question.

love the hat. it's a wonder that we didn't see you on ms universe tonight! (or this morning for you Thai folks). Maybe Magic Pokie can rectify that situation!

btw: Did you see Miss Canada? wheph. Called that one correctly (wasn't very difficult).

Rich, I'm using Color Finesse instead of the bullet now, and it's incredible.

JY, yes, I shot quite a bit of the afghanistan footage (the dvx originated footage). The rest was from a crappy PD-150 (not me), and that's why I used the bullet, to attempt some sort of a match.

.. i use a little color finesse here and there as well. i generally just use the PPRO or matrox color correctoir pending what im doing, cause i cant use the Color Finnesse plug in in PPRO.. you have to get a seperate version for PPRO and i dont like switching apps back and fourth just to do color correction. but for stuff mostly in AE its a great way to go.

yeah, long story... it's not like we're from Ohio and we hate it there, and it's DEFINITELY not a political thing (so many people think it is), its a combination of things, 20% have to do with the state of Ohio's pit bull laws and the other %80 is really insulting to people that live in NYC that aren't FROM NYC....

Not sure why any Ohio laws should bother NYCers who live in NYC, whether they’re from NYC or not, but let’s look at changing your screen name, OK? Thanks.
