Tax Return Time

I'm closer to 4K. But that will be paying for a vacation for me, and therapy camp for my son. Whatever is left over goes to gear for the doc we'll be shooting this summer.

Therapy camp is a camp where they do therapy...:)

My son is almost 6 and has Down's Syndrome. There's a camp we take him to in the Summer that does 6 hours of therapy (occupational, physical, speech, music, etc..) one on one for 5 days. It's at a YMCA camp near Winter Park Colorado in the mountains. THere's a program for the siblings, stuff for the parents, and lots of free time to relax without worrying about your kid (which is a big deal when you vacation with any child, but especially a special needs kid). There's no other program like it in the country. They are the subject of the doc that my wife and I are working on.

I hear ya! I'll be paying much more unless I can do the same.

I hear that Arthur Anderson has some openings. ;)

And if that doesn't work good ol' Martha could give you some stock tips!

Man, I wish we had something like that here. My sister has a variation of Down's, and everything you said, I've thought at one time or another. I bet my parents would kill for one on one. Vacations are tough, but I'm proud of my parents for making them work for the most part.

That said, I think I'm getting a few hundred back, so I'll hopefully put that to a tripod, finally. My poor XL2 has been tripod-less for some time now.

Do they offer therapeutic horseback riding? That's something my niece has done and has really enjoyed.

Alternative Minimum Tax! SUUUX!
You said it. And it's not going away anytime soon. It's a huge money maker for the government. The damn thing was added to catch all those top 2% money makers that know how to not pay tax. What happened? It ends sticking all of the middle income people and the top 2% still don't pay.

Argh.

dude, i was so pissed off when i did my taxes this year. i was like...cool, im getting a good chunk of cash back. wrote so much stuff off. then BAM. Alternative Minimum Tax...its even worse if your single. ****ers.

lolz, my tax return all ready came, I got enough to pay for my tripod and mic!!! Hurray for new equipment!!!

The guys with special needs children, that place in the mtns sounds very cool. Will you be sharing the doc via the net??? I have worked with the handicapped both at nursing homes (work) and at my high school before I graduated, helping them with tutoring, I know a few people that would probably be interested in seeing it including myself.

You should tell them to check it out anyway

Sometimes they can hook you up with a scholarship to help out with the cost. We do it in lieu of a family vacation because there is so much stuff to do.

Hans, yeah, he gets one session of hippotherapy while he's there. That's actually something he's benn doing for a couple of years. It's great.

Buck, I'm hoping it's good enough for some limited distribution. I would be interested in making it accessible via the net, but that's a subject I know next to nothing about
