Hey, a friend of mine asked me this question and I didn't have a clean solution for him, so I thought I'd open it up to you guys/gals: (I'll roughly paraphrase his words).
"Upon installing the Magic Bullet Look Suite, I noticed that the preset "looks" didn't show up in Final Cut the way that they do in After Effects/Vegas. Do I really need to dial in each value for each effect every time I want to use them? And how do I find the values for the different looks?"
Upon investigation of the Red Giant page, it looks like FCP uses the preset looks differently and includes with the download a "Favorites" file that has each different look dialed in. You can then save these as "Favorite Effects" or just copy the effects from one project to another every time you want to use them. (Definitely not as convenient at the AE variety, which I have used before, but I guess the infrastructure wouldn't allow).
Unfortunately, he doesn't seem to have this file. Feel free to make fun of him for his oversight. Some solutions I suggested would be to copy the numerical values for each preset look from someone else's system (step one: find someone else who has it) and then make your own "favorites" file, or to email Red Giant and see if they can forward you another copy of this file. (Maybe they would because it is useless without the actual plugin files? Does anyone know if Red Giant responds to emails?)
But then I thought, hey, maybe someone on DVXuser would have that file and would be kind enough to email it to me. It shouldn't be very big (100K maybe).
If you are so equipped and inclined, please PM me for my email address. It would sure save him a lot of time sitting in front of someone else's computer with pen and paper.
Thanks, all.
