And I have seen almost all of them. But this one takes the cake.

I had never heard of this movie "inside" I am a big horror movie fan and this has to be the most insane movie I have ever seen. Man my head is messed up. :Drogar-Smoke(DBG):

If you are into seeing crazy things just once and only once this is the film to see.

Has anyone out there even heard of this?

There's some good story to be told. I've watched this movie 4 or 5 times, it's definitely one of my favorites in terms or foreign horror.

I was so disgusted by the last kill on the stairs. I pretty much forgot about everything else. And yes it is a gore-fest with a little story mixed in.

gore fests do suck. gore doesn't scare people, scary stories scare people

the only thing gore does is make you want to vomit :)

it's certainly not the scariest of movies but it's damn well shot and i love beatrice dalle's weird face.

but i would agree with the op that it's f*cked up and usually i get tired very quickly of 'head smashed in' 'eye burned out' 'a-hole ripped out' etc etc. It was well shot and the sound design was good.

I showed the old 1954 'Creature from the Black Lagoon' to my 10 yr old nephews and nieces back about 7 years ago (when they were 10 at the time) which within a couple days got a phone call from thier mother. 'The next time they start screaming in thier dreams I'm calling you.' She was pissed.
Point taken.

Innocent stuff these days film wise. But it can still give kids nightmares and what does that say about the film as compared to the new stuff?

They can watch all the modern horror, Friday the 13'th and what not and no effect because they know it's all fake. But when watching the old Lagoon, the niece said right off the bat, 'that looks scary', at 10 yrs old mind you, but that's my point, sort of.
I mean, I was surprised to here her say that, after all the crap horror stuff she'd seen already. Then...the phone calls from her mom, lol. I didn't even realize it would give them nightmares.

To me there really is a difference between horror and shock.
Most of the films today are about shock more than anything else and after a while it stops working [on me away].
The idea of people killing people in creative ways or showing more blood and guts on screen is not my “bucket of blood “so to speak.

One of my favorite vampire movies is Salem's Lot which was made for TV and had no more than one drop of blood but it worked because of good writing and a very isolated and helpless mood.
That movie came out in '79 or '78 I believe and it still gives me the creeps today so it's not just kids when it's done right.

What creeps me out about that version of Salem's Lot is that it got made, to begin with.

I'm not sure the producers even took the time to read the original novel.

Ah, À l'intérieur (Inside) from the french directing duo scheduled to direct the next Hellraiser reinvention. They were axed for some reason but I do believe they would have created the perfect atmosphere for a worthwhile Hellraiser film! Oh well that's hollywood.
What this movie could have done without was the random glimpses of the bad CG baby, it was unnecessary and effective only to take you out of the believability of the story.

I'd agree that psycological horror is the best. Books for example leave that open, which is why a good book will always be better than a movie. Hithcock was good at it in his time.
As well as Vincent Price as an actor from the Edgar Allen Poe written series of movies.

I don't know who is good at that these days. I did read a cool book maybe 10 years ago that was along those lines, a NY best seller then, but forgot the name of it now. Pretty creepy stuff...read like a movie.

Yeah, there's no horror greats now is there? Maybe a couple movies like Hannibal that had it's moments. I'm grasping here. Maybe people are too jaded for that stuff now. But back to my original point, the 1954 clip and it's affects.

Yeah, I'm lost. Maybe someone else can put a decent horror together. Psycological would be my path of choice though, eh, easier said than done.

I do agree, blood and guts = boring.

//Sorry for the typos. :)

Check out Tetsuo, The Iron Man.

That ought to creep you out pretty effectively. Just on weird-value alone...

From wiki...'a 1989 Japanese Cyberpunk film.' I trust your integrity so I'll have a try looking for it. Shall let you know if I find it.
