How to change "Sequence Settings" in the middle of project

Well I hope I didn't mess this all up. I set my Sequence Settings wrong before the project and now when I render, it all comes out ugly. I should have had the "Field Dominance" set to "Lower" and instead its set to "None". But now I find that I cant get in there and change it because its locked, or faded out. Can I fix this without having to re-edit?

Create a new blank sequence- with the settings you need. Then select all and copy then paste from the new into the old.

Ha- yeah most settings can be changed mid sequence but things like frame rate and field order- no.

Funny you say that because now I'm having a field order issue. I have some footage with no field order and others with a field order of "Lower even". How do I mix the two?

Final cut has a "De-Interlace" Plug-in in the "Video Effects" menu. Another way of changing your timeline settings without creating a new timeline is to cut (command + x) EVERYthing on your timeline, change the setting(s) and paste everything back in. Hope this helps. I think the final cut rendering system is a joke. I always have render problems like this that make me think i'm crazy.

I'd go with None. It doesn't affect existing footage, just transitions and new renders.

noah, i haven't been able to find a simple way for editing 30p footage from the DVX. it ALWAYS captures the DV footage with a lower field dominance no matter my settings. so before i start editing in my FCP timeline, i have to select all my clips and set them to none before putting them in my none field sequence. is this the way it is, or is there a better workaround with 30p?
