Few general questions about equipment

Hey guys, I'm new here, but I've been browsing the forums for a couple of weeks now. I've just been trying to learn everything I can gear-wise. Anyway, as a newbie to all of this stuff, I have a couple of amateur questions that hopefully you guys can help me answer. First, I'll type out a list of the equipment I'm planning on getting and tell me if you think it's a solid purchase or if anything might not be compatible with something else I'm buying (buying in the distant future when I have some more money that is).

Here's the list of what I'm planning on (as of now) buying:

Panasonic AG-HVX200

Panasonic AJ-P2C032RG 32GB P2 High Performance Memory Card for the AG-HVX200

Manfrotto 542ART Carbon Fiber 2-Stage Tripod Legs (75mm and 100mm Bowl)

Manfrotto 519 Pro Video Fluid Head

Vocas MatteBox for AG-HVX200 (MB250) - I've got a question about this that I'll get to later on.

B+W 82mm UV Haze 010 (MRC) Multi-Resistant Coating F-Pro Glass Filter

Letus35 Extreme 35mm lens adapter for HVX200 - Got a few questions about this one.

Sennheiser MKH-416 Hypercardiod Pressure Grad Mic - I have a question about this too.

And a vidled cool and vidled warm (standard, not deluxe)

And I've got a friend to help me with editing on avid xpress pro.

I'll be shooting mostly indoors, but I don't want to be strictly confined to indoors. I want to be able to shoot effectively outdoors too, so what else will I need to shoot both indoors (mostly) and outdoors? I get the impression that hypercardiod mic's are best for indoor shooting and outdoors you use a shotgun. Will I need both or will the 416 hypercardiod do just fine indoors and outside? And is that mic the only thing that I will need or will I need a boom/boom pole for anything? Sorry, I know that's a really new-guy thing to ask, but I'm completely out of touch with audio equipment.

Another question I have is about the matte box. As you can see, I'm leaning towards the vocas MB250. Looking on their website, they have different options in buying. And this kind of falls into the range of questions I have regarding the Letus35 Extreme 35mm lens adapter I want. There are different buying options for the MB250. You can either get the MB250 or the MB250 with 15mm rail support. I watched a video yesterday where a guy was attaching the 35mm lens adapter to the HVX200 and he had to use rails below the camera to support it (which I'm guessing everyone has to do). So will I need the 15mm rail support version of the MB250 seeing as how I plan on using a 35mm lens adapter (which I'm assuming requires the rails)? Then, to confuse me even more, I saw this:

Is that something that I will have to buy in order to connect everything properly? Is that the "rail support system" that you have to buy separately and then everything connects to it? Or am I completely off here? This is the part that really confuses me, what all I need to properly connect the HVX200, the Letus35 Extreme, and the MB250 all together and how to then connect them all properly. And is there anything else that I need to properly connect/use the Letus35 extreme? That and I'll have to figure out how to connect the mattebox to the Letus35 I'm guessing. Gotta figure that one out. The rail system and how it fits in to the mattebox/lens adapter equation is really confusing me and I know it shouldn't be.

I'm also unsure about how the B&W UV filter comes into the equation. Since I'm using the 35mm lens adapter, will I still need to use it? Will it just stay in front of the camera lens or will I have to remove it for everything to fit together with connecting the letus and all that?

And lastly, what exactly is follow focus and is that something that I will need given what I'll be using. I hear it mentioned fairly often when talking about 35mm lens adapters, so is it something you need for that? If so, how does it work in relation to the other pieces and how does it connect?

Again, I'm really sorry for asking such novice questions, but I'm really trying to learn everything I possibly can about all of this since while I save up to actually purchase anything (years). Gotta start somewhere! Thanks, guys. I really appreciate any help I can get with this. It's all a little bit overwhelming at first.

P.S. Random question I just thought of. To get a blueish tint in lighting, would I need to use the color filter pack from vidled for the lights or is that a time to use color lens filters or is that just something to be done in editing?

Alot of this gear I have no experience with...so I'll only answer generally, and on what I know.

If you're planning on buying all these things over a matter of years, and eventually filming, then buy the accesories first, as down the road a bigger better camera might come around once you can afford a camera...perhaps buying a smaller camera to learn on, which is far less expensive, and slapping on all these accessories to it is a good option.

Follow Focus : It definitely helps, and it would be a good investment...it helps by allowing a second person to have the job of adjusting focus accurately while shooting.

Bluish tint? I'm guessing you're thinking of doing some day for night shots? This can be quickly achieved by setting your iris wide enough to set a white balance to an piece of orange construction paper, then adjusting the iris for the amount of light you want.....be sure to put subjects that need alot of details into a beam of light....woods with stray beams of light here and there work great for this...or a light you bring to set combined with a cuculoris(device to create a tree like shadow effect...you can also just bring a leafy branch along).

If day for night isn't what you were going for, then forget the above paragraph, lol :)

As for applying filters to the cam or the lights...it depends on what the pre-existing lighting consists of, how much light your lights put out(and if they're balanced to pre-existing light), and what effect you're going for(I gave one solution to one particular effect above, and this'll give you a rough idea that there are MANY things that can be acheived with good lighting...it's more about coming at the problem from the front door, i.e. looking at the effect you want, and tayloring the light to it)

Ahhh, thanks, Nick!

Something that I forgot to mention is that I'm looking at a Nikon 35mm lens, so that's what I'll be using with the Letus. I'm wondering, though, what's the difference between a PL mount and an OCT mount?

Which of these kinds of lenses do I need? Standard zoom lens?

Also, with the Letus and 35mm nikon lens attached, is there any use for/way to even connect a mattebox?

And on the letus35 bundles, there are 2 options: 30cm rail supports or 45cm rail support. Any thoughts on which I should go for?
