Since we don't yet have a Set Dressing section: Looking for a prop and I need help.

[Mattykins]

So for a film we just entered development on, I need to find an older style "take-a-number" flip number system.

Like the ones you see in old deli's. Rather than the fancy red LEDs they look like:

Anyone know where I can find something like this? Or even something that would flip numbers like the hatch timer from lost?

Basically we need predicted numbers to come up on this thing. And I really don't want to go LED because those are pretty expensive (unless someone has a low-cost solution for an LED counter.)

Thanks all,

-Matt

If you're still in the city, a producer friend just turned me on to these guys, said they were awesome, and had a million things and they were cheap:

Don't forget American Science and Surplus. You have to know about this place for props.

Ebay.

[Mattykins]

Oh, I've tried Ebay. Part of the reason is - I don't exactly know what this thing is called. That's Mark. I am back upstate again. (Thank goodness - working on Wall Street even for a limited engagement is depressing now-a-days. Everyone's mood is solely related to what the Dow is doing)

My search continues.

It's a Scandus Turn-O-Matic made in sweden! Try some restaurant supply houses. Sometimes they have stuff from old delis.

You might also be able to find an old flip type digital clock and simulate the device. They had a dial which you could flip numbers forward from 01 to 59, 12 to 12.
