Pegasus rail slider and wire system videos? Where can we find info?

I have a rather large exterior shoot coming up in march that features a lot of crane work through woods and trees. I would love to see how the new pegasus system works but I cant find any videos or reviews of the system other than the one short piece featured on cinevate's site.

How long can we go on the slider rods?
Has the system been tested with a RED carrying a remote focus and wireless video? (30+lbs)
What system do we need for standard 100mm heads (I use O'Connor HD/HDS and Miller 55 systems)
Do we need to own the pegasus rail support system or are there kits that give the necessary parts all in one package for just using the wire/slider
Is the 100mm bowl or the flat 1/4-20 system recommended for best smoothness (other than the fact that the bowl gives pan/tilt options while moving)

The video looks great even though its short. The guys at gulfstream aerospace here would love seeing these in action for their product advertisements and cockpit shoots. The amount of interest in the Brevis at the production plants is actually surprising.

We've finished shooting our tutorial series on the linear tracking systems and are just finishing up the edit this week. This one features a pile of behind the scenes from very successful the Stillmotion Evolution workshops this month.

I can't wait to receive mine! I'm gonna do an unboxing video and review. I'm definitely interested in seeing the video university segment though, i've been checking periodically to see if its up but still nothing yet. Be sure to update us when its up and running Dennis.

Believe it or not, it's been crazy busy for in the new year. The shooting schedule got set askew by a crazy busy January, new office opening, two new staff added, NAB planning etc. etc. Regardless we loaded up a pile of gear last week and shot the majority of the piece in our local conservatory. So while it was blowing 30km/h and -25C outside we were in lush greenery with a waterfall behind us. We also shot a quick overview of the LensBaby Composer on the EX1/Brevis rig.

Brad, our new girl Sarah is in charge of getting the Pegasus gear out, and finally we've got stock pretty much on everything. We did add two parts at the request of the stillmotion crew which allow both tripod plate mounting as well as table-top use (or a combination of both) without swapping any parts. The parts were added to both the Pegasus HL and Pegasus Carbon rigs.

You'll also see a tutorial/demo/bts series in March which will cover the cable-cam configuration in use on on of the larger ski areas out west :-)

there are ski areas out west? :P I live in the Prairies, it doesn't compute. I appreciate the info, sounds like this is gonna be a cool little system.

I'm still confused at to how these configure and what parts go where.

Does it basically boil down to this:
-If you own the Proteus rails already you just buy the "proteus version" of the cable cam. Otherwise just buy the standard kit.
-Secondly, our option for the kits are essentially you mount the camera directly (via 1/4-20 screw) or you mount with a 100mm bowl (extra add-on)
-Does the bowl mount work for both slider and cable cam kits?
-Can the slider work on any 5/8" rod?

Avenger! They invented sales people for a reason bud! :)

I think the idea is to combine Cinevate parts to make a usable slider system. So you can use parts that you already own if you have them. It can work on any 5/8" rod to my understanding. Any "grip rod" should do! There's multiple versions to accommodate different weights and shooting styles. It's first and foremost a slider system! A dang portable one in my book! The cable cam is just a plus.

I'd give Cinevate a call! Dennis or Hubert can help you out in a matter of seconds.

yeah, looks like you need a base plate system in order to use the pegasus kit as a table top style dolly. or just add two rods to make it a slider with the supplied end 'clamps'.

which is annoying for myself, as i have already invested in my adapters (different company) rods support. means i'd need to fork out an extra $207US (converts to even higher AUS dollars) to actually use my prize, when it is sent :crybaby:

Joseph,
I spend all day speaking with sales people, so I enjoy typing here and letting the info be shared amongst the boards lol.

Dennis,
I just checked the new videos. It looks like you guys did a really great job with the new gear. I'm quite excited. But as always, one question answered turned into 5 new questions asked. So here is what I am wondering now:

-If we order the 100mm bowl for these systems, do we still get the 3/8" plate?
-Can we get the systems without rods?
-Is the 100mm bowl compatible with both the trucks and heavy lifter?
-If I'm going to be using the systems with only heavy cameras (20-35lbs) then would I just want to go with the heavy lifter (for slider type setups) rather than the carbon fiber kit, correct?
-I'd still like to have a table top system (for rolling on the actual table top), so is it possible to get the trucks, 100mm bowl, and links in a kit (rather than the whole rods and ends).

What I'm referring to is just using the trucks and the bowl with a 5/8" setup rather than 15mm carbon fiber. So:
-Can we use the trucks from the carbon fiber kit on 5/8" rod (using the two heavy lifter ends).
-Also, can short AND long links be used on the heavy lifter?
