I am editing on a 23.98 timeline of some holiday footage. I needed a clip from Shutterstock which it says is 24 fps and is in a .mpg file. When i import into FCP it looks very jittery. Is there something i can do to make it look better ?

It's should be right in FCP or QuickTime as a codec available to you, assuming FCP 6 is installed properly.

For some reason if i open QT and export to either AIC or Uncomp 422 and then try and import it into FCP it says error. If i export from FCP and then import i get into FCP but it is a single frame only. Why am i having so much of a issue with this ?

I figured it out. The editing timebase is 23.98 and the footage really isn't 24 fps. So other than setting the timeline to 29.97 is there a way to use the 29.97 footage ? I kind of wanted to output a native 24p DVD. I sort of found a article at 2 pop using reverse telecine but cannot seem to figure it out. It said something about having to do the process entirely in FCP with CT without shutting it down. I'm not sure about the fields and what not. Is this even possible. Ideas or suggestions ?
