Flo-X Fluorescent bulbs only 65W?

I see that Lowel lights can take daylight bulbs, like the Flo-X bulbs. But I also see that the maximum wattage in the Flo-X is 65W. Tungsten allows for up to 750W. What am I missing--it seems that the 65W bulb would be too dim to be useful for anything. Are fluorescent bulbs measured in a different power scale or something?

A 55 watt fluorescent bulb puts out roughly 250 watts of light.

so 4x55 watt fluorescent bulbs is the rough equivalent to 1,000 watts of incandescent light.

Aha. Thanks. Funny the catalogs don't say how BRIGHT the light is then. Just how much power they consume (almost as useful info, but not quite).

So a 65W Flo-X is probably like a 300W Tungsten/Halogen bulb, in terms of how bright it is.

Are those the bulbs that go into the Lights of America fixtures? If so you have to watch because they are designed to work with certain fixtures. I have one and had to take the bulb apart and modifiy the circuit inside, so I could hook it up to a normal ballast.

If they're the bulbs I'm thinking of.
