Can I connect my NTG-3 directly into my EX1 without the cable?

Hey, remember my thread asking for advice? I finally got the NTG-3, my cousin could bring it for me from the USA so I bought it. Thing is I got it today, and I need to test it right now because tomorrow he's returning, and I previously decided I would buy the cable here (I'll go the store once and get cable pole etc.). I just got the mic and there isn't any open store now or tomorrow.

To the point: the mic's male could be plugged directly into the female, but I wan't to know if I can do this without burning my mic or so.

I thought so, I mean, it is a dumb question in the first place, but, I just didn't know and it is a 700 u$s device :D

It worked :D Didn't test it much because it's on an awkward position, but so far sounds great :D (if you're looking for info on this mic don't trust my 'sounds great', they all pretty much sound the same to me except for self noise).
