NEW ADAPTER: Redrock M2 Encore

well part of callibrating it would be using a chart to check if it's callibrated corrrectly. Especially for collimation, back focus, proper mounting.. etc..

just wondering i guess about the frequency ( sorry for going off topoic, but im adoring the sound quality )

;_; Why must they have a new release a month after I buy mine??

I'd like to see some more footage (especially some before/after footage) before I shell out more money.

Brian, it says that encore has "made setup easier and faster". How so? It looks like the flip adapter still uses those damn blue rings. Whats different?

With the motor out of the way of the part of the GG visible through the opening, and with the massive size of the new MicroX, setup no longer requires the agonizing micro-tweaking required to get a clean shot through the thing with no edge shadows. (Something that wasn't even possible with a misaligned sensor like on all the HVX's - for those you simply had to zoom in more!) Not to mention that you can now collimate your lens (distance between it and the ground glass) without the hours of set-n-test, opening the adapter and moving the GG collet, etc.

Hi. Could you start another thread about entry-level Senneheiser? They're nice ok, but I would prefer to be called here for checking actual M2e news..
Cheers

Send me a PM if you want to know about the audio. That way we can keep the topic to the M2Encore on this thread.

But yes, the Bunny movie was with G2's.

We have integrated one side of the coupler rings into the microX Encore, so you have one less variable. And as pointed out the zoom/focus process and especially the collimating lens mount are all much easier to use. If you check out our setup tutorials on vimeo.redrockmicro.com you will see the setup process is pretty streamlined.

Also Just FYI the M2 Encore adapter come pre-collimated (using a richter collimation device) so default is you don't have to collimate it.

the RedRock website says of the m2e...

"Universal camera support, including Sony EX series cameras "

Does any footage exist filmed with the great but troublesome (with adapters)ex1?

Problems with microXe

Hi Brian,
We are having problems with microXe using a sony EX1. We've tried to access the forum but we couln't get it activated. We are supposed to film in a few days and I still have trouble with vignetting and all other settings - and still can't access the info on microXe and Ex1.
Can you help me?

Have you checked the tutorials out? http://vimeo.com/3263838

You do have the microXe and not the microX right?

You might need to center the microXe using the set screws on the blue coupler. You also might not be zoomed in enough.

Post up some pictures or send me a PM if you want.

Anyone know?
Optically, is there anything different between the old m2 with the cinescreen II, and the m2 encore? Especially regarding light loss. Thanks.

gumonstro - drop a line to support@redrockmicro.com - all the setup tutorials are now at start.redrockmicro.com so that should show you everything you need. Let them know exactly wht you are using i.e., M2 Encore, microX encore, or if it's something different.

Yes, there are definite improvements in both the M2 Encore and the microX Encore that contribute to the improvements in light transmission and edge sharpness.

Thanks

Brian
